A Baby Story

It has been a while and so much has gone on so lets see how well i can remember it...

This pregnancy was pretty smooth sailing for the most part. Baby was really low the whole time, which put lots of pressure on my pubic bone. Lets just say it felt like I had a really bad bruise for about six months. I took the lovonox shots faithfully and once in a while I would have problems with my left hip falling out of joint. I really didn't have much to complain about. As far as baby goes. All was well. Baby always measured consistent, the heartbeat was always right around 140's (which is the lowest of all my babies.) I remember Dr. Smith saying how chill this baby was and that I was going to have a pretty easy going one. I remember it taking a really long time to feel the baby move, which is weird considering this is my third. I didn't feel baby move until close to 5 months and then as time went on the baby moved more and more. I was still so sure it was a BOY!

I went in for my 8 month check up and the doc checked me. I was surprised when he told me I was dilated to a 3.5 and 90% effaced...holy cow! I thought I could have this baby any minute. I had to keep it in for one more week because we were getting ready to move that weekend and I needed to get all unpacked and settled before baby came.  I was so unprepared and that is so not okay with me. So the weekend came and we got all moved and settled for the most part. I went in for my appointment the next week and Dr Smith checked me again. I was dilated to a 6 and still 90% effaced. He sent me down to labor and delivery so we could have this baby!! I called and let my Mom and Tim know. They were both on their way. They broke my water and gave me the epidural. Two hours later I was pushing...it all happened so fast. My mom was getting ready to leave the room while the nurse was calling the doctor to come catch the baby. I told my mom she could just stay, which is something i wouldn't normally do. I am a pretty modest person but for some reason I was just so calm and didn't have a care in the world. My mom got to watch this baby be born and I am so glad for that. What a special thing to share with her. After three pushes the doctor pulled out the baby. I was dying to know what the sex was and was shocked when they said, "It's a....GIRL!"
Right after they said that the baby started peeing and it literally shot across the whole room and landed all over Tim...he he! The nurses said they have never seen a girl do that before:) I was in complete shock when they handed me a princess. They really encourage skin to skin time with mom and baby and I just remember thinking how beautiful and perfect she was. Some of her first photos.

Seth was sad when he found out that we had a girl baby. He was really looking forward to sharing a room with the baby. It didn't last very long though. As soon as he seen her he was in love. He was one proud big brother. Macee wasn't sure what to think of her. She was excited it was a girl and warmed up pretty quick too!

The kids stayed at JoAnn's house and they came and visited a couple times a day. They were so cute with her and wanted to hold her the whole time.

I remember right after I found out it was a girl I started to panic because I didn't have any girl names picked out. I would suggest a name to Tim and he would just pull goofy faces. Finally he said he didn't care what we named her. However, if there was a name he didn't like he would tell me. On the night before we were going home I had this cute nurse. I remember her asking me what I was going to name her and I told her a couple different names, but told her I wasn't sure yet. I remember waking up at 4:00 a.m. just panicking that I didn't have a name for this sweet baby. I prayed for an answer. I got up and got ready and went to the nursery to get my sweet baby. When I walked in the nursery there was a name tag in the baby bed.

Our sweet bundle of joy!
I wasn't sure that was what I was going to name her but I figured this was the answer that I needed. So we named her: HADLEY MARIE CHRISTENSEN...I really like it ;)

Luckily, last minute I picked up a girl and a boy outfit to take to the hospital...All ready to go home!

Probably ought to write about the aftermath! ;) I cant believe she came so fast. I also cant believe we haven't had time to sit and chat and catch up. We need to!
