Our Happy Holidays

This year we had such a good Christmas. I was starting to get worried and stressed toward the end. Tim was lucky enough to get a good bonus check form his work and we decided that we were going to use that to buy Christmas this year. We received the check four days before Christmas...that's right. I did all my shopping for everyone in four days. Not to mention our resources here in Pocatello are a little limited. Thank goodness Idaho Falls is only 45 minutes away. We made it none the less with no time to spare! I don't think I will be cutting it that close again:)

Christmas Eve I made a yummy dinner with ham, rolls, cheesy potatoes, jello and all the fixins. Usually we are with my family on Chrismas Eve but we really enjoyed our small family this year. We really  wanted to teach the kids the true meaning of Christmas so we sat down and had the kids watch a sweet little video. Then it was time to open their jammies. This is a tradition my mom always did with us as kids and it is fun to carry it on with mine. We also let the kids exchange the gifts they bought for each other. Macee got a Unicorn Pillow Pet and Seth got a Spider man toy.

Here are the kids in their Christmas PJ's

We made Santa some yummy Oreos. Seth was so excited when he woke up and Santa had eaten two of the three cookies and drank all the milk ;)

The children were all nestled in their beds....
 Christmas Morning:

Seth really wanted a remote control excavator and everything else that may be remote control...and that is what he got!

Notice how Macee is no longer in her Christmas PJ's...too much apple juice before bed. Aycarumba!

Kids opening presents...

Seth also got a remote control excavator. He was so excited about it!

Macee got her a doll house!

The only thing Macee would ask me or Santa for was Princess make-up....what the? Really? She is barely 3!!! She must have been a good girl because she got it :)

Isn't she beautiful?

The next day we headed to Utah to see the grandparents...where the kids got extra spoiled with legos, remote control trucks, bow and arrows, walking dogs, baby dolls, coloring stuff and much more. It was a great Christmas.

Hope you all had a great Christmas and have a Happy New Year!!

The kids don't quite get what is going on, but I know they are both going to be so excited to add another addition to the family. They will both be such big helpers:) We have had our first ultrasound and will patiently await the arrival of our new little one.

Happy Birthday Macee Girl

My little Macee turned 3!!!! I cannot believe it has been three years since my little princess entered our life. She has made such a beautiful addition at that. Macee wanted to have a Princess party again this year. We were able to celebrate it at Grandpa and Grandma Christensen's house. She got spoiled with lots of presents...too bad she is old enough now to know better if I were to regift for Christmas ;) We love her so much and feel so lucky to have her!

Is that not the cutest cake ever?

A Hunting We Will Go

This year for Thanksgiving we packed up the kids and headed to Utah. Our first stop was Grandpa and Grandma Christensen's house. We arrived just in time for a yummy Thanksgiving feast with all the fixins. A couple hours later we headed over to Grandma Kathy's for another yummy dinner. My mom and Vance have been raising chickens and turkeys for the past year and this year for Thanksgiving we got to eat one of  their turkeys. Seth was so excited about this...he had not one, not two, but three servings of that turkey!! It was delish!
The next day I woke around 3:00 a.m. to do a little BLACK FRIDAY shopping! It was a success. I got some really good deals and love love love the whole experience!
Then on Saturday we headed down to Oak City for the annual Christensen Christmas tree hunt. I of course don't cut one down for me personally, but Seth gets him one every year for his bedroom. He was so excited about it and had to keep telling me over and over how excited he was for his tree. While we were there we had yummy chili and bread bowls, cinnamon rolls and other goodies. The kids had fun sledding and roasting marshmallows. Here are some pics of the tree hunt.

This is the one...so proud!

Celebrating 75 Years

My sweet Grandma Jones turned 75 years young last weekend so we jumped in the car and headed down to St. George for the weekend to celebrate this special day with her. My aunt Lisa did such a good job hosting this special event and it was so good to see cousins and aunts who flew in from out of town to be there. They had a great band and some good food! Happy Birthday Grandma. I am proud to be yours.

Halloween

Seth came home from preschool with an invitation that he made all by himself. It was an invite to his preschool Halloween party....

At the party the kids got to decorate cupcakes, play pin the tail on the dragon, make slime and hit the pinata. It was a fun time!

Then it was off to Grandma's house. We went trick or treating at Grandpa and Grandma Christensen's house. It was cold and rainy but luckily we were able to get out before the weather got too bad. The kids were done after one street, which was fine by me:) They spent the rest of the night passing out Halloween candy to all the trick-or-treaters. I think that was their highlight.
